We have a lot of things going on since my last blog, the virus and now the demonstrations over the murder of George Floyd. I was totally angered by the actions of the police. I felt they acted like arrogant bullies by piling on Mr. Floyd. You could see his knee was on the middle to back of his neck and bystanders saw he stopped breathing and warned the officers, and sadly they ignored them.
When I was a young man I had some training and at that time they called strangle holds as being very dangerous and to be avoided to give and to take. They not only close the air way but can close off the arteries in the neck, causing the victim to pass out and or die. No way should this be used by anyone at any time. You do not know the victims health and ability to survive. I have watched “Live PD” and I saw what appeared a race attitude when dealing with our black citizens, they would pull them over for a license plate lite out or not signaling properly and instead giving a warning or a ticket they would have him out of the car in handcuffs and searching the driver his passengers and the car. It happened so often that could not watch it, the show has been pulled.
There are many officers that are honest and fair, they do a great job, I appreciate them. Sadly there are a few that are “bullies” they love to put on all the gear, like the “bat man belt” and strut their stuff. When they tell you to do something you had better do it without question and do it RIGHT NOW! They become furious if anyone should run from them or fight being handcuffed. I wished that everyone would do their best effort to comply with all of law enforcement because in some cases you don’t know what is going on and their directions could be for your own and others safety.
As to COVID 19 I’ll refer to Manchester, the Angel.
