The weather is getting better, the sun is shinning and I feel like working on the boat. I was not surprised to see Manchester there. I was glad to see him because I had a question to ask him about Islam. Is Islam a peaceful religion or what?
"Islam sprang from the old testament, Abrams Sari, bore him no children, Sari, told Abraham to take her maid Hagar, an Egyptian, to be his wife. In that time it was permitted to have more than one wife. Hagar bore him a son. An angel of God came to her and told her to name him Ishmael, and the Lord would greatly multiply her descendants that cannot be numbered for a multitude.
"The angel also told Hagar that "Ishmael shall be wild, his hand against every man and every mans hand against him; and he shall dwell over and against all his kinsman. " (Found in Gen. 16/11-12). Muhammad, it is believed, to be descended from Abraham and Hagar, his Egyptian, wife.
"Muhammad was born in Arabia in 570 c.e. he tells of the angel Gabriel, who told him to "recite in the name of the Lord who created all." Muhammad declared the oneness and power of God. He began preaching, praying and writing. In Medina, Islam was founded. He died in 632 c.e.
"As the word of Islam spread and gained power the Muslims went to war to increase the word and their power. Among some of the territories they conquered were; Palestine, Syria, North Africa, Persia and Spain. When they entered France, King Charles (the Hammer) Martel, defeated them.
"During WW I the Arabs aided by Lawrence, revolted and the last Sultan was deposed in 1920. After WW II because the Arab Nations sided with Germany, many of their borders were divided up allowing Israel to reoccupy some of their land lost long ago. Fulfilling the prophecy in Ezekiel 37/21-22, made over three thousand years ago.
"Now to answer your question. Is Islam a peaceful religion? As with many religions in the world, including Christianity, Islam has fought many wars for power and land also of course to spread the word of Islam. Many believers are peaceful and are willing to blend into their host countries as best they can, Some of their worship practices could cause them to go to a private area five times a day.
"Others, a few, fear and hate the "west" because of what they see on TV, movies and some news broadcast. They feel Islam is the only way to God.
"Islam has been at odds with Israel for centuries, and they worship the same God!"
With that he vanished.
