I believe in prayer! The first significant prayer that I remember being answered by our Heavenly Father was when I was 16.
I was living in California, with my mother and step-father. During the summer months I would go to Seattle to visit my father and grandmother. I was allergic to Bananas and if I got a sniff of one I would come down with hives, lots of hives, serious condition. During my stay with my grandmother, she served me a salad with bananas cut up in small pieces. I realized with a couple of bites and stopped eating but I felt that the damage was done. That night I prayed in earnest, deep hard prayer, I did not get hives! Praise God! Ever since then I have believed in prayer, it works.
I could go on and on with many accounts where prayer has worked for me. On Fathers-day my wife, Joanie and I were getting ready for a party at our house. Joanie fell down the stairs and hit her head, causing a skull fracture, I called 911 and ended up in two local hospitals. I prayed serious prayer that she would be alright. She was in hospital for about twenty-three days. She is home now and recovering “Praise God”.
The hospitals did everything they could for Joanie, but she needed more. She needed the power of our Creator, a Spiritual power. I felt that at home with her family she would make the connections she needs that she cannot get in a hospital room. I am right. Having faith in a power beyond the physical world can help us deal with conditions beyond our control. There is nothing else!
