Chapter 49 (December 21, 2013) Our TV (sometimes I feel it's Satins Toy Box) has provided a topic for Manchester. There is a TV show, Duck Dynasty, about a family who manufacture duck calls. It grew rapidly into one of the most popular shows on TV. The patriarch of the family was interviewed by a magazine and they quoted him, quoting a passage in the Bible (1 Corinthians 6-9) "Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers, will inherit the kingdom of God". He also describes in detail how he feels about male Vs. female anatomy. He didn't quote the Bible exactly but neither did the main media quote him correctly. The main media, had their talking heads criticized him for "Gay Bashing". Where in his quote he also mentioned adulterers, thieves, drunkards etc.. No one from Alcoholics Anonymous called the media, or threatened the network nobody from wall street called, but the LGBS whatever they call themselves called. So the media jumped at the chance to attack a family show that the patriarch who is a professed Christen, happened to quote a passage from the Bible. A&E, the producers, suspended Phil from the show, a big mistake. I went to the boat to check on things and Manchester was there, so I asked his opinion. "As I have said in the past, you're creator has given you the freedom to do whatever you want, but not without repercussions. The Gay community and the media apparently have not spent much time studying the Bible. Pauls letter to the Corinthians is a letter of guidance for their Church, their members. They should not engage in behavior that could reflect on the Church. As I have said in the past there are physical behaviors that can be a risk to your health. You are aware of the threat of aids. If a person wants to risk that, well its their decision. A Church should not encourage a behavior with that risk. Not all homosexual behaviors have that risk. There is also some risk in heterosexual acts, that is why Paul warns about adultery and general morality. "It is your physical body Paul is concerned with your helath and happiness. Your spiritual body is saved through Christ. "Phil does continue in the article that we never judge someone who might or might not go to heaven. He says we love them. "As to Christmas I feel the same as before too much Santa and not enough Jesus." He vanished. Copyright 2013 David C. Fowler |
