Here we are, Christmas, and many Christmas movies, one I like very much is A Christmas Story, with Darren McGavin? The one where a boy wants a Red Rider BB gun - which I wanted for many years myself, and finally got on Christmas! I took it to the basement, and shot my great grandfather's silver trophy, hitting it dead center.
About three of the Christmas movies I watched had a character that challenged the proof of God, and those acting the parts of the pastors did not have a clear answer.
Many times in movies and TV shows they have this question in their scripts, and the one challenged seems to struggle with an answer. I have no problem with an answer, because we can see it every day. I believe our God, is an incredible scientist, with a large number of assistants, (Angels if you will) designed and created our world. I don’t believe they created our planet, I believe they searched the universe for a planet that could support life, then they created all of the life, warm blooded cold blooded, plants, etc. the terrain, waters and all that’s on, and in it.
Now that we have the advantage to see from the explorations that we have done of other planets, it’s clear to me that our planet and everything on it is very special and not here by accident. Our brilliant scientists can’'t even create a bug. So it’'s easy for me to meet their challenge to prove there is a God, just look at yourself in the mirror, you are created in his image, you are proof that God exists.
Now to Christmas, our historians think that Christ was not born in the month of December and not in Bethlehem, how they get there I’'m not sure, one thinks that there are two of them, one is closer than the most popular one, and for December, I don’t know. Many feel Jesus simply does not exist then or now.
I love our Lord Jesus and I know there is a need for us to have him in our lives. My experience with my wife’'s fall and head injury, having faith (hope) in what happens with us will come out well.
