Well, I said, many people feel that if our Heavenly Father is so passionate why is there so much pain and suffering in our world?

Your world is a physical world, you are physical, of course, there is pain and  suffering! Without pain how would you learn to duck! Your Heavenly father did not want to create a world of little machines that followed a prescribed program. He wanted you to be beautiful, free, flesh and blood beings. With that there are responsibilities. Your Heavenly Father submitted the commandments so you would have a guide, through the ages. The ten commandments grew into thousands and there were many interpretations and punishments. That's one reason why Christ, your Savior came to you, taught and made his great Sacrifice.
