Chapter 53 © David C. Fowler 4/24/14 The weather here in Seattle is still wet. My wife and I decided to go to the movies. We wanted to see Noah, and that was a big mistake. The reviews we saw told us that the picture did not follow the bible very well but we thought it would stay with the bible version somewhat, it did not. It starts out with Noah and his wife and three sons two of which were married, one was young and wanted a wife so he went to a settlement and found a woman in an open pit grave! Alive! When he was on his way to the ark she got caught in a trap, he struggled to free her, when his father came and pulled him away because a stampede of town people were charging down on them, she was killed. His son held Noah responsible. According to the Bible Noah's three sons were married, for a long time it took Noah about six hundred years to build the ark. Thats how it started and it got worse. The writer-director decided to pick things up a little, a flood killing all humanity was not quite enough he felt he needed huge fifty to hundred feet high rock monsters, I could not find these in the Bible. Although the Bible tell us that our Heavenly Father made a covenant with Noah, that his sons, there wives and his wife will be in the ark, safe. The movie portrays Noah deciding that God wanted him to kill his family and himself. Not leaving any human alive. About the only thing that was correct in the movie was Noah getting drunk from grapes that he grew in his vineyard, and being naked, not on the beach but in his tent. Hollywood scored again distorting the Bible with a movie. I do not recommend this movie to anyone of the faith, or anyone else. I hope to see Manchester next month. |
