My wife and I are on a trip south, we try to leave in January or February heading south out of the cold and rain (depressing). This year we got a late start. . . MAY!
Our trip will be a short one because the areas we like to visit will be too hot, like Arizona and Nevada.
We decided to visit our friends in Oregon and California, our Oregon friends are a couple we have known for over fifty-three years, I was in their wedding and my friend was in our wedding.
We enjoy our visits with them greatly because it is fun remembering all the adventures and misadventures we had.
After we left Oregon, we went into California and then the problems began. We stopped at an RV park for the night and in the morning I stepped out of the motorhome and the automatic steps started to slide back. I thought, WHAT IS HAPPENING! The steps should be secure, so I bent down to see what was the matter? The gear that rotates the steps in and out had detached, the shaft had sheared off.
We could not leave with the steps hanging down and out, so I had to figure out how to tie them back and up. Bungees! The 20th century invention was the answer. We were able to continue on our way. We were trying to go to our friends home in Atascadero, I have known "Butch" for a long time and we enjoy visiting him and he has a large, well equipped shop in his yard. I knew he could help fix the steps and he did.
After a few days We were ready to leave, so I began to turn the motorhome around when I heard a loud thump and I lost my power steering? It turned out that a fitting on the power side parted and out came all of the fluid, and I was stuck in the middle of his parking area.
Now after a lot of hard work under the motorhome, I was successful installing the part.
Before I left I wanted to check the tires for proper pressure. Butch had the compressor that could reach the one hundred pounds pressure and began checking the tires, when I heard a loud explosion, the tire had blown! And It broke part of the fender off. NOW I STARTED TO PRAY!
Then I thought If we were on the road and all of this had happened, WOW! Thank you JESUS ! When you think HE is not there, You are Wrong !
