I have been reading a Pulitzer Prize book and it supports the monkey theory and then the population of the earth almost at the same time traveling on the oceans from island to island and continent to continent without any knowledge of navigation.
He appears to support the Darwin theory. I support some of his approaches but not all. I know that we compete against each other on just about everything; starting as children with our siblings, school mates, jobs, money, power, position and of course seeking a mate. We want to be successful in everything we do. We want our friends and others to be impressed with us, admire us, but sometimes that has its problems - one being envied - so there are some who feel that they deserve success without earning it, then the problems arrive.
The religious area has its share of people who are willing to misrepresent quotes and verses to lead followers into wars in order to gain power; the Crusades are an example. Some churches and religious cults misuse the bible and Christ for power and wealth.
Those who are searching for answers and a church might consider reading a bible, I like the Revised Standard Version; ou don'’t have to deal with the old English version. The New Testament applies to we Gentiles, especially the letters of Paul, because they were written after Christ completed his sacrifice. Christ's mission, if you will permit me, was to end the need to make burnt offerings for transgressions by people who were dominated and controlled by their leaders.
Christians believe our Creator sent his Son to end that with One Sacrifice for all, and that Sacrifice had to be accepted by the Father. When Jesus was with Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, he could not tell them how he would change the world, they would not understand. Even today, many do not understand. (Rom.2-14)!
