Interview 61 © David C. Fowler April 2015 When I left the boat I thought about my faith, why I firmly believe that we were created by a super scientist and his helpers (Angels?). When I go outside and look at the trees, shrubs and all the living creatures. I find it impossible to believe that everything on earth came from dirt and pond scum I was reading an article in a magazine, the National Geographic, maybe? There was an article on bugs, with pictures of some of the most beautiful ones I've seen. I was thinking that if these bugs had a thought process that enabled them to think that if they mated with one he thought was really good looking, they would have created great offspring....come on, bugs! Are capable of engineering themselves? Give me a break. How did these bugs come to this planet? They could not have traveled through space and entered the atmosphere without burning up, land on the right spot, at the right time to survive. Where did they get their air in space. Their protection from the freezing cold? I am amazed that so many scientist refuse to even speculate that there could be a fellow scientist who wants to remain hidden from us. On the O'Reilly, TV show he interviewed Bill Maher. Maher, said he felt Christians were fools for believing in the Bible, he picked out quotes from the Old Testament that sounded impossible to have happened, like Noah and the Ark, which in our time with the ability to deduce the size the Ark would have to be. How difficult it would be to locate and round up all the animals. Let alone getting them on the Ark. This is only one account in the Old Testament, that is hard to understand. There are several theories on this, one is that it is a story written by the Jews, meant to be an example of Gods wrath and punishment. Another one is, your Creator, being a super scientist would be able to take the seeds of all the plants and animals and put them into a capsule, the "Ark", if you will. Destroy what he had to and reestablish them in a better place. People three or four thousand years ago would not be able to understand this, so the writers simplified it, even today they don't get it. Maher, also quoted from the Old Testament, the law handed down to Moses, during the Exodus, about keeping the Sabbath day holy. He says the violation was punished by death, he said the quote was in Deuteronomy, I couldn't find it there but it is in Exodus, more than once. In Exodus 31:14 "Anyone who profanes it (The Sabbath) shall be put to death" also in 31:15 "Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death". This seems to be quite a harsh punishment for simply doing a little work on the Sabbath. This was during the Exodus and the conditions were very severe. The Lord apparently had good reason for it. Christ saved us from all of those harsh rules. |
