Last month I had commentated on the campaigned for Jeff Sessions replacement seat. Roy Moore was seeking that seat. Some women came forward accusing Moore of improper sexual advances, which happened about thirty years ago. I felt he was forgiven by our Lord, for those transgressions, my daughter and a conservative talk show host also disagreed with me when I called into his show.
I based my opinion on our Bible, in Romans 2/14-15 and 5/15 -18. I feel those quotes give to all human-kind what Christ life and sacrifice was all about, that we all are forgiven. Our Creator knows that for us to survive on this planet in the human form that we need a safety net of forgiveness, in many cases it is very difficult for us to forgive.
My daughter and the talk-show host will probably never forgive Roy Moore, and thats "OK" with me, but our Heavenly Father, has the power to look into Moore's inner-self and he may have, that's between them.
In the case of Roy Moore it seems that the age difference problems and I have to admit that eighteen years is a lot, it is clearly child abuse. My daughter felt he used his position in the court system to intimidate the girl and I fully agree, his actions were inexcusable. My daughter feels that he should beg to be forgiven from all of the girls and women he abused, I also agree with her.
Roy Moore also attempted to impose his interpretation of Gods laws on those he had control over, he needs to read the letters to the Romans, by Paul.
What I am trying to say is we are not subject to the ten commandments given to Moses and the Israelites. If we are to follow the commandments and what other laws given to the Jews, We gentiles could only be saved if we became Jews. Praise our Lord for Jesus Christ, where our sins are forgiven, without becoming Jewish, nothing wrong with that but I would feel under too much control by their rules.
The Angel explained in interview 93 how Christ mission was to open salvation to all.
"Before Moses the Lord made an agreement with Abram and his people, which became the Jews, a bond which continues today. This bond does not extend to all humankind. He wanted to extend his grace to all and he did through Christ and his sacrifice. That sacrifice eliminates the Jewish laws for we gentiles, as he shows in Rom. 2-14-15. "When the Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law." The rock slab Roy placed implied that he would enforce Jewish law in his court. If he had understood Pauls passage in Rom. 2-14-15 that slab was not appropriate, although six of them are just and good (there are four that are for worship) we Gentiles are not required to follow them for our salvation."
NOTE: Hi folks! I am the daughter, and since Dad brings me into this above (and I post his blog!), I will chime in to clarify my two simple positions on this subject...
First that it is not up to me - or Alabama voters - to forgive Roy Moore, it is up to the girls and women he trespassed against.
And secondly, as a voter, I think twice about handing more power over to someone known to abuse it - as Alabama voters did when they denied Judge Moore the office of US Senator.
