The weather here in Seattle has been rain, rain, rain. It's very hard going to the boat in this weather. Not only the rain but the cold. So I'm not going to go to the boat. I felt that this would be a good time to tell you about the power of prayer and how important prayer is to me and you.
I can recall when I was ten years old in our neighborhood there was a bridge that extended across a gully. If you wanted to be the cool guy you had to walk across the bridge on the top of the hand railing, witnessed by your friends. As I can best recall that was the first time I prayed with deep faith. I was scared. I have always had faith in our Heavenly Father and prayed expecting some results, but this was serious.
Well, as you can see my prayer was granted! All through my life I have prayed, not often though, I feel that my prayers should not be frivolous or selfish, like praying for a parking space. I'm not special, not very brainy. I don't say grace at all my meals and don't go to Church every Sunday, but for some strange reason all my important prayers have been answered.
When a person believes in our creator, our Heavenly Father, then the power of prayer is theirs. They don't have to have any special power, the power is with the Father. Believing that their prayer will be answered helps but is not always necessary.
Your prayer may not be answered the way you expect it to be answered, but it will be answered. Having faith in your Heavenly Father and prayer, gives you great power and comfort in your daily lives.
Life for most of us can at times be stressful. When you have done all that you can physically do then you can turn to prayer, submit the problem to your Father in Heaven then relax. The problem will be solved, maybe not the way you imagine but it will be solved.
